MANIFESTO
More than a number
PLUTO9 started from a simple idea: many of us grew up learning there were nine planets. Then one day, Pluto was removed from the list.
This brand is not about rejecting science. It is about curiosity, debate, memory, and the strange emotional attachment we have to a small distant world.
Pluto didn’t disappear. The definition changed.
THE STORY
Why Pluto still matters
It didn’t change
Pluto stayed the same. Its orbit, composition and place in our imagination did not vanish overnight.
Complex world
Mountains. Ice plains. Atmosphere. New Horizons revealed a world far richer than a simple distant rock.
It has moons
Pluto and Charon form a rare binary-like system, surrounded by smaller moons in the outer solar system.
Still iconic
Science evolves. Definitions change. But Pluto remains one of the most recognizable worlds we know.
THE QUESTION
The planet debate
2006
Pluto was reclassified after the International Astronomical Union adopted a new definition of “planet”.
The orbital rule
Under the new definition, a planet must clear its orbital neighborhood. Pluto does not.
Still debated
Some scientists argue that geophysical properties should matter more than orbital dominance.
You decide
Is a planet defined only by rules, or also by what it is? Pluto keeps the question alive.
AVAILABLE NOW
